- Your article is the last one in this packet: "Fake Fags"
Note from Ms. W - You pulled this thing together well. Brandie and Justin--now that you see what Chad has done, do you get the idea? This was to be a summary all three of you created, and Chad took what you guys has posted and formed it into a paragraph. If any of you choose to work on this for your portfolio, you will want to consider getting rid of the little bits of opinion that linger in this paragraph, as well as eliminating quotes and putting it all into your own words. Nice work.

Written by Augusten Burroughs in October 2003, "Are Metrosexuals Fake Fags?" argues that nowadays straight guys are beginning to act like they are gay or metrosexual. Burroughs explains how certain traits make a guy seem more gay and he is basically jealous of metrosexuals. Now the fact that everyone had to come to the idea of a guy being gay, I think we can also let this metrosexual guy be who he feels he needs to be. The article is about one man's point of view on how society is collapsing because we are letting these guys be both gay and straight. He argues that there should be only two sides: gays and straights. Burroughs states many examples of straight guys acting metrosexual, such as shaving their chest hair, wearing open toed sandals, and using hair products (Burroughs 104). At first, the article seemed to be a serious controversey; however, one of the article's last sentences claiming that "classes on mastering your gag reflex as hetero-blow-job seminars" (Burroughs 104) makes it appear to be just a sarcastic blow on straight guys acting gay. Maybe Burroughs wants to be completely serious after all, but sorry my friend there is a gray side to every black and white story.
